Joseph Arax

17-year-old Joseph Arax, a junior at Bullard High School in Fresno, California began studying the piano at age eight with pianist and composer and George Warren. Since fall of 2000 he has been studying with California State University, Fresno piano professor Andreas Werz. In addition to his regular studies, Joseph has participated in master classes by visiting artists Paul Badura-Skoda (Austria), Stewart Gordon (USA), and Edoardo Maria Strabbioli (Italy).

Joseph has received honors in numerous piano competitions including first prizes in the Junior and Senior Divisions of both the MTAC Fresno Branch Solo Competition and the Central Valley Youth Performance Awards Competition administered by the Philip Lorenz Memorial Keyboard Concerts series. He was also awarded an Honorable Mention at the 2006 Sylvia M. Ghiglieri Piano Competition in Stanislaus.

Joseph has appeared in live broadcasts on Valley Public Radio, performs regularly for school and church functions, and Fresno Opera League events.
